Building In Stetson Hills

Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity commenced building on our "Stetson Hills" Development (located east of Powers Boulevard in Colorado Springs) during the Summer of 2006. In early June, PPHFH participated in the national Home Builders Blitz 2006, with the completion of the Whatley family home in just 3 days! On Sunday, September 10th at 1pm we broke ground for the next home, for the Ducros-Nicholson family.  This family escaped New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the area in 2005.  Thanks to Saddletree Homes, for generously sponsoring this project.  If you're interested in volunteering at the site, please call our Volunteer Coordinator Aimee at 475-7800.

Thrivent Builds with Habitat

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has committed an unprecedented $100 million to Habitat for Humanity affiliates across the country through their “Thrivent Builds Homes” program.  Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity is privileged to partner with Thrivent Financial to build a home for a local El Paso County family in Summer 2006.

The Thrivent Builds Homes program joins nearly three million Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members with Lutheran congregations, communities, partner families, and Habitat for Humanity affiliates to build up to 500 homes per year by 2008.  Part of the mission of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, as a faith-based membership organization, is caring for others.  Habitat for Humanity shares that same commitment to improving lives and communities.  This program is a powerful example of both organizations working together to help eliminate poverty housing.
