USA Build

What is the USA Build?
A partnership of government, military and defense agencies and businesses who join together to financially sponsor and build a Habitat house for a local family.

Who participates in the USA Build?

Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity is currently inviting agencies and businesses to partner in the USA Build. If you know of interested groups, please invite them to join or contact the Habitat office.

What is expected of the USA Build Sponsors?

A contribution ranging from $3,000 - $55,000 toward the cost of the Habitat home. The total cost of the home is $120,000, which includes the price of the lot, land development and construction costs.

A liaison to help coordinate and communicate with Pikes Peak Habitat.

Sponsors will have scheduled volunteer time on the home, if desired.

What does volunteering look like?

Volunteers build about 95% of each Habitat home! We build Thursday – Saturday, between 8:30am – 4:30pm. Volunteers do not need construction experience to work on the home (we have professional construction supervisors on staff), but they must be at least 16 years old.

What is expected of Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity?

Offer quality promotional benefits to sponsors as part of a strategic marketing plan.

Select a qualified family committed to partnering with the program

Provide land, architecture plans, construction supervisor, and materials

Assist with volunteer coordination and fundraising efforts when requested

Where will the USA Build take place?

Woodmen Vistas, PPHFH’s newest and largest project to date, a 36-home development near Woodmen and Powers.

How is the homeowner chosen?

PPHFH has a fair and unbiased family selection process and chooses families based on three criteria: need for affordable housing, ability to pay their no-interest mortgage, and willingness to partner with Habitat.

Why should my agency or business participate in the USA Build?

Make a difference: Homeownership creates generational change. The children of homeowners are more likely to have improved physical and mental well-being, graduate from high school, and eventually have a home of their own.

Strengthen your team: Getting people out of their offices and into the community can be a life-changing reminder of the power of teamwork. Employees will leave the build site more motivated than ever to work for an agency or company that believes in giving back.

Partner with a Unique Brand: PPHFH provides an opportunity to link your agency or business with a widely known charity brand in El Paso County and around the globe. We can design a promotional campaign to meet your strategic marketing objectives.

Build our community: With such strong ties to the military, a build of this nature in Colorado Springs can unite agencies and business in the government sector, allowing them to accomplish more by working together.

When will the USA Build get started?

The USA Build Committee meets monthly for planning and construction will begin August 2010. The USA Build will last 5-7 months depending on weather and number of volunteers.
